My "Carolina Minute” interview recapping my experience as an intern with UNC.

Over four years as an intern with UNC’s Communications and Marketing team, I created platform-specific content for the University’s flagship Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn, X and Facebook accounts, ensuring every post aligned with UNC’s brand voice and university-wide campaigns like Imagine Your Heelprint. I collaborated closely with campus departments and content producers to deliver timely coverage of major university events and student life, including commencements. I also coordinated, led and photographed the multi-year Heels of the Hill social media series, spotlighting more than 200 student stories and reaching over 107,000 users across Instagram and LinkedIn, while mastering AP style copywriting for university-level social media marketing.

Heels of the Hill

Heels of the Hill was a multi-year social media series I coordinated, led and photographed to spotlight the real students behind UNC’s reputation. Noticing a gap between polished university marketing and the authentic voices of students on campus, I helped shape a series that centered on personality, passion and individuality. The project featured over 200 student stories and reached more than 107,000 users across Instagram and LinkedIn, creating a more human, relatable reflection of life at Carolina.

To highlight student life in a more playful, authentic way, I loosely modeled a series after The Try Guys, visiting a range of UNC clubs and jumping in to try them myself.

I helped adapt UNC’s social presence to emerging vertical and short-form trends by tracking weekly platform shifts and reimagining them through a Carolina lens. From photo carousels to trending audio, I translated fast-moving internet culture into on-brand, engaging content that felt timely while still unmistakably UNC.
